Soda Fountain Opens

Nostalgia returns to one of Asheville’s historic landmarks, “F.W. Woolworth,” established in 1938 and restored in 2001. It now boasts a fully operational Soda Fountain built to resemble the original Woolworth Luncheonette. A 50's flair was used in the design to further compliment the vast array of art.

The Soda Fountain is in its original location and is now open and serving many of the original menu items, including egg creams, club sandwiches, coffee and of course old fashioned ice cream sodas. You don’t need a time machine to travel into the past. Just visit the Soda Fountain at Woolworth Walk.

Woolworth Walk allows artists
to display, sell wares

"The brainchild of Scott Sirkin, a contractor and developer who moved to Asheville from Miami five years ago, Woolworth Walk is a marriage of historic preservation, commerce and art. A Landmark Building in the
Heart of Asheville's Historic District

Woolworth Walk Gallery has brought charm and excitement to the beautiful, old Woolworth Co. building, which was constructed in 1938.

Great effort and expense has been invested in all aspects - upgrading the facility to confirm to today's modern safety and building codes, while preserving much of the buildings past grandeur. The red sign above the entrance and the exterior architectural decorations above the windows have been restored to further enhance the buildings appeal.

Inside, the grand staircase was uncovered and brought back to life. Hundreds of vinyl tiles were removed to reveal the stunning terrazzo floors. Expert help was obtained to paint the interior in a way that highlights the high ceilings and immensity of the building.

As time goes on, Woolworth Walk will continue to uncover and restore the past. Feel free to contact us for more information - support@WoolworthWalk.com
