Beth Ann Runnels
Painter, Landscapes A painting is more than colors on a canvas. It is the vibration of emotions, an invitation to pass through a doorway to the innermost feelings of the artist expressions and feelings. Impression is described as a lasting effect, opinion or mental image. Each painting is an exciting challenge to capture my impressions of an image and convey it to the viewer. Nature is my guide and a driving force in my life. Channeled into each of my creations is a lifetime of experiences interpreted in a way that I hope will share the mystery, beauty and my love of nature. Each work is therefore 'a part of me at the moment' I am creating it. It amazes me to have the thought "I must get this on canvas," along with a direction in which I think the work will head, including the colors and the composition. Then, when I view the finished product, to see how differently it often ends. Having taken a life of its own from my mood and the feelings it had stirred within me. Something deeper than what I see. My ambition to bring joy and comfort to others will be interpreted differently by each person whose emotions it touches. And this, to me, brings the impressionism in my art full circle as my opinions and innermost feelings are bared for and interpreted by the viewer. |
